Chinese sex mafia busted

The boss of Peach Blossom Palace is spotted In Ghana's most expensive casino, wearing Gucci shades, a golden brown Emperio Amani tuxedo and a custom-made Rolex wrist watch.

Scores of raunchy mini-skirted Chinese girls fill up his glass with exotic Frcnch champagne. He spins his cozy swivel chair in sensuous delirium as the ladies' dainty fingers caress his neck, back and shoulders to orthopedic effect. "Ha,ha ha" he lets out another loud peal of frenzied laughter.

Change through access to tools of empowerment

After reading this article it made me start to think about practical things that can be done to change social conditions which foster slavery and human exploitation. Often times this issue gets the reaction, this is so big what can I do? This is a great example of something practical that can be done to create… Continue

UN says Human Trafficking appears to worsening. (A must read!)

In a new report, the United Nations says human trafficking for the sex trade or forced labor market appears to be getting worse, not better, because many countries aren't paying attention to it.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) surveyed 155 countries for its report on modern-day slavery, but didn't say how many people it believes are victims of human trafficking. Estimates range from 800,000 new victims each year, according to the U.S. State Department, to 2.5… Continue

UN calls for trafficking action

The world must do more to confront the largely unstudied and neglected phenomenon of people-trafficking, the United Nations has said in a report.

So little is known about the problem, says the report, that no estimate can be given of the number affected.

The report also points to a more basic problem: the lack of a common understanding of what human trafficking is, and whom it affects.

But it is "a crime that shames us all", said the UN's Antonio Maria… Continue

Women the new pimps in human trafficking trade

WOMEN are emerging as the pimps of the global trade in humans with a third of countries reporting more female traffickers than male, a United Nations study shows.

The first international report into the scope of human trafficking, published yesterday, found a disproportionate number of female perpetrators, more than in any other crime, selling other women into slavery in countries including Australia.
