~ Jessie's case is talked about in Assistant Professor of Law at UBC, Benjamin Perrin's (one of Canada's leading human trafficking experts) upcoming book about human trafficking in Canada. He has been quoted as calling Jessie the most famous human trafficking case in Western Canada.
~ Timea Nagy (a human trafficking survivor), the founder of Walk With Me, a human trafficking organization in Ontario, actually calls Jessie the most famous human trafficking case in Canada. Timea has named a human trafficking award to be given out next week to people in the media, police officers and social workers who work tirelessly with human trafficking victims after Jessie & I - this ceremony is a huge honour to us and to the people who are receiving them. I am trying to raise enough money to be able to attend this ceremony, but if not - it is still a great honour and a wonderful way to get Jessie's face, name & case in the minds and on the lips of many more people. I have said for years, and I continue to say, one day Jessie will be the poster child for human trafficking in Canada. And look at that, she has an award named after her!
Jessie's case is huge. Jessie is an international endangered missing woman and a human trafficking victim. Jessie is the most well-known unknown missing person anywhere. She is well-known to many, many missing person's organizations around the world and many, many more human trafficking organizations worldwide. Jessie is in the hearts and prayers of thousands of people on a daily basis.

NOW . . . things are different - I am the mother of a missing child - a missing grown child. And I have 3 daughters who are young women who NEED their mother to be there for them. I have 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson who need me - they need me to be there for them and to be SANE. They do not deserve a crazy grandma - they deserve the best and I try hard to be that. In this life I have to wear many hats: my Mommy Hat is the most important, but when I work on Jessie's case, I have to take it off and put on my Mom PI Hat. It is the only way I can stay sane - not cry while I type this letter or do anything that needs me to be strong. I have my Helping Hat. I do all I can to help others going through what I have been through already.
MY LIFE IS NOT THE LIFE I ENVISIONED FOR ME AFTER I ENTERED MY 50's, BUT I HAD NO CHOICE, JESSIE HAD NO CHOICE. WE WERE GIVEN THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION TO LIVE WITH, SO WE WILL HAVE TO SIMPLY TO THE BEST WE CAN.
Jessie's story was told briefly (5 minutes) on Canada AM on March 29, 2010, we spoke of her being missing so long, of her being a trafficking victim and about Diana Trepkov's age enhancement drawings. But Jessie's case has so much more to it and 5 minutes was not nearly enough time to talk about it all.
Please, can you help me get Jessie's case some more attention? Jessie is Western Canada's (if not all of Canada's) most well known human trafficking victim.
